Klang: Police are investigating allegations that vehicle leasing company in Jalan Sungai Sikamat, Kajang has been operating on private property without permission.
Selangor deputy police chief DCP Datuk Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said early investigations showed that land is owned by a number of individuals.
“We are still investigating to see if the allegations are true or false. Maybe some owner of the land gave consent to use it and other owner did not.
“The land’s title is under four to five names,” he said at the handing over a duty ceremony of the North Klang police chief yesterday.
Police are taking statement from the Islamic Consumer Association Of Malaysia (PPIM) and the car lease company.
The car and rental company drew the ire of PPIM due to claims that the company had cheated several individuals who had leased their car to them.
The purported fraud came to light when several of PPIM activists and victims on Monday demanded the release of the vehicles kept at the company’s storehouse in Kajang.
The group had allegedly barged into premises with the whole incident being aired live on PPIM Facebook page.
The firm’s manager then lodged a police report, while police investigations revealed that the group did not produce any court order to enter the storehouse.
The case is being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass and Section 427 for causing mischief.
