SHAH ALAM – The awareness among Malaysians especially Malays towards ah long credits is still low.
Realizing the issue, Lembah Pantai MP, Nurul Izzah Anwar with the cooperation of Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM) held a forum entitled ‘The Dangers of Ah Long’ at her constituency yesterday.
"Alhamdulillah we managed to held this forum by inviting Dr Izham, representatives of motivational expert and ‘ah long’ eradication team from PPIM.
“Residents around Lembah Pantai got the chance to hear for themselves the experiences of those who became victims to ah long through their informative talks,” she said to Sinar Online.
Nurul Izzah also said, through the forum, PPIM revelaed nearly 80 per cent of the complaints received by the association are concerning credits from ah long made by the Malays, some of whom were involved in gambling.
“Therefore I urge my counterparts in Batu and Wangsa Maju constituencies to continue with the programme and I will myself continue with such programme through KL roadshow programmes to avoid citizens from becoming victims of ah long,” she said.
