NON-MUSLIMS INTERFERING WITH 40 HADITH EDUCATION IS OUT OF LINE - PPIM - SINAR DAILY - 29/08/2023

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia Islamic Consumers Association (PPIM) urges authorities to investigate the media statements made on the issue towards the studies of the 40 Hadith module deemed to be extreme.

PPIM chief activist Datuk Nadzim Johan said he would lodge a police report on the matter.

"Islam as a religion is under the powers of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Islamic education is for Muslim students and it was the rights of Muslims.

"The actions of non-Muslims interfering with Islamic affairs in the nation is out of line. Did those opposing the implementation of the 40 Hadith module researched it and found any means that it could threaten non-Muslims," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Education Ministry in a statement informed the Imam Nawawi's 40 Hadith Appreciation Module pilot project will be implemented involving Muslim students and teachers in 61 Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) and 228 Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK) throughout the nation.

It was targeted at Muslim teachers and students to instil spirit of courtesy, love, and empower religious understanding.

Nadzim reminded all parties not to spread hate involving the 3R (race, religion, royalty) that covered all aspects instead of politics alone.

"Don't think that we will remain silent. Who are they to place conditions and threaten us if the 40 Hadith studies continue," he stated.
