2690) THE SUN DAILY - 15/06/15 - PPIM Launches Taxi Cooperative

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM) has established a One Kuala Lumpur Taxi Drivers Cooperative as a platform for its members to assist in spreading correct and accurate news.
Its head activist, Datuk Nadzim Johan, said on average each of the drivers make 20 to 25 trips daily which they can indirectly utilise to interact and chat with their customers to help spread certain news.
"The main objective of these drivers, known as Consumers Ambassadors, is to become the distributors of information on matters that could harm consumers such as the issue of price manipulation which the drivers can subsequently report to PPIM for action," he said during the launch of the cooperative at PPIM's headquarters today.
He pointed out that this is an important transformation for the taxi industry that will benefit all parties.
